MyPitt Community College

Once you’ve enrolled at MyPittCC, you’ll have a number of reasons to log in to the system. You’ll need your student ID number to access Moodle, register for classes, check your financial aid status, and access official grades, among other things. In addition to providing a single login, myPittCC also allows you to access PCC Services tab. To sign in, click on the PCC Services tab.

Placement testing

PCC offers CLEP and placement testing to determine skill levels and meet prerequisites for courses. If you are under the age of 18, visit our page for students who are under the age of 18.

If you do not wish to take the test at PCC, you can schedule it at an educational location near you. The testing is free for PCC students. You may be required to pay for remote proctoring services, however. However, your remote voucher is valid for 90 days. Placement testing is an essential part of your education at Pitt Community College. If you plan to take a computer course in the fall, you will need to take a placement test before you register.

Financial aid

The Financial Aid Office at PCC is located in the Goess Building and is open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A financial aid counselor is on site daily at the Enrollment Bar to assist students. If you have any questions about financial aid, you can download the form from the Financial Aid website. If you need to appeal an award, you must file an appeal form before the end of the term.

To maintain financial aid, students must complete at least 60 percent of the semester. Any course that you withdraw from counts towards this ratio. If you fall below the 60% mark, you will be required to pay back a portion of the funds that you receive for the semester. If you fail to pay the balance, you will not be able to register for classes, receive transcripts, or use future financial aid. So, make sure you complete every class!

If you are interested in applying for scholarships, you can find them on the PCC website. To apply, you must have been admitted to PCC and have gained access to your myPittCC account. Use your PCC user name and password to log in and search for scholarships. Some of these scholarships may require letters of recommendation and essays, so make sure you have these ready when you begin the application process. If you are awarded a scholarship, be sure to follow the instructions carefully to ensure you get your scholarship!

To qualify for work study, you must be enrolled in six credits per term. This is because you will need to complete 20 hours a week to get the full amount of money. Also, you must show that you have an unmet need. You must also be able to complete a time sheet each month, and the money you earn is direct deposited into your bank account. As a result, summer work study can be a great option for students.

General education requirements

MyPitt has a system for determining the General Education requirement for students. This system can be used to choose the appropriate courses for your degree program. You can also review the General Education requirements for previous students. If you do not see a specific course listed, contact the instructor to discuss your options. Once you’ve identified your major, you can choose a course based on its prerequisites and fulfill the general education requirement.

Scholarships available to students with exceptional need

If you are in need of financial assistance, you should apply for a scholarship. The need-based program, or SEOG, helps students with financial need attend college. The award amounts vary depending on your academic performance and financial need, but they can range from $100 to $4,000 a year. You can apply for one of these scholarships if you live in Indiana or Vermont. For more information, contact your state scholarship agency.

The federal government also offers some scholarships and grants to students with financial need. Federal Pell Grants, for example, are given to undergraduate students without advanced degrees, and you can apply for them. The application process is free, and you can complete your FAFSA as early as March 1st. The priority deadline for applying for a Pell Grant is March 1st. The Pell Grant payment chart shows how much you can expect to receive each year.

You will receive an award based on your grade-point average, whether that be from high school or college. If you’re attending college after graduating from high school, the amount you will receive will depend on your academic performance and need. The majority of scholarships are renewable. Once you’ve earned a degree, you can apply for a different scholarship. While some scholarships are available to students with exceptional financial need, others are available only to students with a high GPA.

The SEOG program awards students with financial need up to $25,000 per year. You must complete the FAFSA, maintain a 2.0 GPA, and complete at least 67 percent of the courses you take. The Yellow Ribbon Program allows qualified veterans to attend private institutions for low or no tuition. These funds are awarded on a case-by-case basis and are renewable every year. When applying for a Pell Grant, you must also fill out the FAFSA.
