LG 27GP950 Monitor Review

This LG monitor comes with several features, including a High Dynamic Range color gamut, Good gray uniformity, and low input lag. It also comes with two USB 3.0 ports and a 3.5mm audio jack, making it an excellent choice for video gamers. The LG 27GP950-B has a relatively low input lag, which means it will provide a smooth gaming experience even if you are playing on a slow network.

Excellent HDR color gamut

The LG 27GP950 is a superb display that is designed to handle both PC and next-generation consoles. Its HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC ports support 4K 120Hz on PS5 and 4K 160Hz on modern graphics cards. The monitor uses a Fast IPS panel for exceptional motion handling and wide viewing angles, while its sRGB and P3 color spaces deliver rich color reproduction. It also meets the DisplayHDR 600 standard.

The LG 27GP950 features an IPS panel that delivers remarkably vibrant colors. It covers a wide 98% DCI-P3 color gamut and 135% of the sRGB color space. The monitor’s IPS panel provides 178-degree viewing angles and offers excellent factory calibration. It also supports hardware calibration. Overall, the LG 27GP950 offers excellent color quality and value for money.

Good gray uniformity

The LG 27GP950-B has a good gray uniformity, which is important for accurate color reproduction. The monitor displays more than 96% of sRGB and 95% of DCI-P3 colors. The LG 27GP950-B comes pre-calibrated, and its dE average is 1.97. This makes it a good choice for most people and does not require calibration. The display’s contrast ratio and black level are also well-balanced.

Low input lag

The LG 27GP950 is a gaming monitor that features a 4K UHD resolution and a fast refresh rate of 160 Hz. It comes with a slender bezel design on all sides and a dual-stage design that includes red elements. The monitor also has a central joystick that controls the OSD. It is available for around $900. If you are on a tight budget, you can get a slightly cheaper model. This monitor does not have a large display, but it has an excellent price-to-performance ratio.

One of the most significant differences between this monitor and the previous generation is its input lag. The 27GL950’s input lag is around 40ms. The response time is between one and two milliseconds. This is better than the 27GL850, which had a higher input lag. The 27GL950 is significantly faster than the previous generation, so it may be the perfect choice for gamers and other users looking for a gaming monitor.

The LG 27GP950-B supports HDMI 2.1 inputs and offers native 4K resolution at 120 fps. It also supports HDR10 and Variable Refresh Rate. The monitor is excellent at reducing input lag and delivers excellent HDR brightness output. It lacks Dolby Vision support, but its low input lag and variable refresh rate make it an excellent choice for older gaming consoles.

The LG 27GP950-B boasts a stellar panel that offers 144Hz refresh rates on PC. The monitor also has a 1ms response time, and FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility. The monitor is also compatible with Xbox Series X. For the price, the 27GP950-B is a good choice for a gamer who needs a fast response time and low input lag.

Good horizontal viewing angle

LG’s new 27GP950 offers a great combination of performance and value. It has a 98% DCI-P3 color gamut, a higher peak brightness of 600 nits, and additional (16) dimming zones. It also supports up to 160Hz overclocking, and is freeSync Premium Pro certified. It also features RGB lighting on the back of the monitor, with 48 LEDs.

Lack of fully adjustable stand

The LG 27GP950-B’s stand has a relatively low degree of articulation, offering only a few degrees of height adjustment. Also, the stand isn’t fully adjustable, with only a few degrees of swivel or tilt. While the lack of a fully adjustable stand is an annoying feature, it can be compensated for with the inclusion of an arm. The lack of fully adjustable stand on the 27GP950-B doesn’t make this TV an impediment to using the monitor comfortably, but it is not an absolute requirement.

Although the LG 27GP950-B doesn’t have a fully adjustable stand, the hinge is firm and will hold the screen in an ergonomic position. The screen’s surface is also highly reflective, which isn’t necessarily a problem when you’re watching movies or playing games, but it does mean you’ll have to put up with the reflections on the screen. If you want to mount your monitor on a wall or other flat surface, however, you’ll need to purchase a VESA mount for it. But that doesn’t mean you can’t use the LG 27GP950-B’s stand as it is VESA-compatible, and if you have a large desk or multiple monitors, you won’t need a VESA mount for it.

Other than that, the 27GP950-B’s display features are quite impressive for this price range. It offers 4K resolution on a 27-inch screen and is the sharpest HDMI 2.1 monitor available on the market. The Nano IPS panel on this monitor is highly durable and has 98% DCI-P3 color coverage. It also supports FreeSync and G-Sync, and has a variable refresh rate between 48 and 160 Hz for smoother motion and to eliminate tearing. While it lacks a fully adjustable stand, it has a wide range of other features that you’d expect on a monitor of this price range.
